“I’ll try to carry off a little darkness on my back…”
I’m often told my words are “dark” and “morbid”.
Even though comments are sparse and infrequent.
I suppose most don’t understand me.
Or write me off as a cynic.
Or are simply stunned into silence.
I seem to have that effect on people.
I accept all of the above.
Because someone must say these things.
There’s a reason I’m almost exclusively the “philosophy” section of Viva La Manosphere.
It’s because I “gaze deep into the abyss”.
Knowing full well it “gazes back into me”.
I could, with little effort, cop the styles of Roissy, Delicious Tacos, Rollo, et al.
But, as a wise man once said:
“Hit counts ain’t Heaven.”
So, instead, I’ll keep to the path I’ve chosen.
Sharing what I know.
Revealing what I see—
de profundis.
Since we can never hope to understand why we’re here, if there’s even anything to understand, the individual should choose a goal and pursue it wholeheartedly, despite the certainty of death and the meaninglessness of action.

The world doesn’t need another Roissy or Rollo. But we sure as fuck need you, brother. Keep doing what you do.
“The greatest fear people have is that of being themselves. They want to be 50 Cent or someone else. They do what everyone else does even if it doesn’t fit where and who they are. But you get nowhere that way; your energy is weak and no one pays attention to you. You’re running away from the one thing that you own – what makes you different.” – Curtis Jackson
(sorry to tarnish your house with rap, lol)

Your words honor me more than I can say.
Sadly, a paltry “thank you” will have to suffice.
But know:
I say such with a depth and sincerity rarely seen.
And, though I am not a big fan of rap, I do plan to read ‘The 50th Law’ soon.
So I thank you for that quote, as well.

Keep up the good work of spreading the Word.
Your work is appreciated.
Don’t go away.

Many thanks.
Your support and encouragement are appreciated greatly.

I agree with Jack because if you start writing like the others, you will write just like the others. Writing really is one area where “just be yourself” might actually work.
Like Bob Ross (The Happy Painter) always said,”you must have dark to make light; dull to make bright”. (ignore the dull part because you are anything but, lol)

Well said.
Many thanks for the support and encouragement.
And pleased to find I’m not thought “dull”.
Not that I ever feel I am.
Heh.

Keep doing what you do. You know we read all of your posts and have ever since we found you. Look forward to talking to you again after this outage at work. I’m taking off work the entire 2nd half of May to chill and live again after 84 hours a week for 4 weeks.
April 29, 2013 at 6:21 pm
You got it.
I’ll look forward to that, too, no doubt.

kid, you have barely even seen the utter morbidity i’ve had to endure. a while ago i posted “into the black” after a VERY BAD lapse of PTSD.
i’ve since sworn never to post something when in that state of mind ever again. lol.

With sincere respect, I say:
Careful, Danny.
You’ve no idea of the nightmares I’ve lived and the demons I’ve battled.
I’ve no desire to compare crosses, as suffering cannot be equated.
So let’s leave it at:
We both have our box of horrors.
April 30, 2013 at 2:17 am
you know what i mean. lol. no disrespect meant dude. i’ve heard some of the worst horror stories from others and even they get wide eyed when i describe my “black side”.
but props to you. stay up.
April 30, 2013 at 2:29 am
No worries.
We should chat sometime.
After all, you seem to be the lynchpin of the ‘sphere.
I almost feel as though I’m missing out.

You’re blog is interesting. Cryptic at times, but thought provoking all the same.
I agree that you should stay true to what you normally write, for if you deviate, you lose what made your blog what it is, and your readerbase as a result.
At least you have found your niche – I am still not sure what mine is.

Thank you.
That’s exactly what strive to achieve.
You’ll find your niche.
I’ve been blogging for 9 years (elsewhere and more recently here).
It takes time.
But you’ll get there.
